Just when we’re preparing to say goodbye (and good riddance) to 2017, it’s hard not to get introspective about the year that was. And especially for the entertainment that video games gave. It’s been an extraordinary year, with explosive action titles, photorealistic sports simulations, and fantasy role-playing games.

The Nintendo Switch
Nintendo Switch was released in March of this year. It brought in a revolution in home/mobile hybrid console in the way we think of gaming. From the day of its launch to this day present, it has been a great success, because of possible versatility it brought in along with the exciting and fresh game lineup.
The Switch’s Cosmological Start
Nintendo Switch amassed a huge library of almost 300 games just within the 9 months of its launch. This impressive mass of hit games ranges from Nintendo like Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to all the indie darlings like Golf Story and others as Skyrim.
A Pack of Great Games
The year 2017 has been kicked off by Resident Evil 7: Biohazard in a great way, and still, the train hasn’t stopped rolling. The game has a dozen contenders for game of the year awards, beating out all the action games, engrossing RPGs, and other masterpieces.
Nintendo gave a new territory of two most beloved and amazing series, Zelda and Mario. The gaming experience of both is fresh and unforgettable by all means; Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of Wild.
Transformation of Old Favorites
A good number of video games have received remarkable new entries, like Persona 5, Resident Evil 7, Nier: Sonic Mania, Automata, and Metroid: Samus Returns, each one of these has found the top-notch spot in their very respective lineup.
Award-Worth Original Classics
This year was also bestowed by some great original masterpiece IPS, such as Horizon Zero Dawn (Robotic dinosaurs), Prey (space nightmares), and Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice (mind-blowing visions and sounds).
Battle Royal Madness
Battleground by Player Unknown is not out yet (at least officially), but it has become a great multiplayer game of the world. The records set by this game are inspiring and create similar addiction of Grand Theft Auto and Fortnite.
The Super Indie Games
2017 has been a great year for the Indie games – What Remains of Edith Finch and Night in the Woods has sunk deep into the heart, because of the deeply personal narratives, The End is Night gave tears while Golf Story made us laugh like crazy.
These games mentioned above may seem small for the list, and it’s true that the list goes on, but these mentioned above have made an outstanding mark on 2017. And this list also does not include Splatoon 2, Everything, Battle Chef Brigade, Cuphead, Wolfenstein II, and so many more.
