6 Ways to Watch HBO Free

Let’s look into these ways real quick:

1. Get Spectrum Free HBO Service

If you are a Spectrum cable customer and you pay for traditional HBO in your TV package, you will be getting HBO Max (the HBO centered streaming service) for free. So technically, it’s like getting HBO for free.

HBO Max includes everything that’s HBO offers and more. You will be able to stream extra movies, old shows including Friends and some originals. The media giant keeps on releasing new shows to stream so you will have plenty of credible content to watch. The HBO Max service rolled out in May so you might already be eligible to apply.

You can also wait for the HBO Free Preview Weekend by Spectrum. It’s normally available during the first half of the year. It’s announced the day before so keep on checking Charter’s site for the news.

2. Sign up for Free Trial with HBO

Visit HBO Now’s website and you will be able to get watch HBO free by signing up for a 7-day trial.  You won’t have to pay anything if you cancel the subscription 24 hours before the end of the trial period. Otherwise, your credit card might be charged with $15.

Don’t forget, the free trial is for new customers only. So if you have already signed up with your usual email address, create another and get yourself the free trial.

3. Download HBO GO

HBO GO is different from HBO Now. HBO GO is a free app that you can download from Google play store. If you or your friend pays for HBO through their traditional cable, you can watch HBO content from this service.

You will just need login credentials provided by your pay TV. Unfortunately, HBO GO service is leaving from July 31st so you only have a few weeks to access one of the best programmings of all times.

4. Watch HBO with Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime members can add HBO through Amazon channels too. Although it costs $15 per month you can sign up for a free trial to get access to HBO for a few days.

The good news is Amazon Prime comes with some HBO shows, movies and documentaries already so you might not have to sign up for a free trial, to begin with. It’s recommended to check your library and if you find your favorite shows, forget about signing up for a free trial.

5. Sign Up For a Free HBO Trial with Hulu

In case you already are a subscriber of Hulu, then you have got yourself another trick to watch HBO content for free.

Unfortunately, Hulu doesn’t offer free HBO service. However, here again, the 7-day free trial period will come to the rescue. Free sign up is available for new customers only. This means if you haven’t already signed up with HBO Now or HBO via Hulu, then you are eligible to apply.

Enter your email address, follow the instructions, and there you go. You will get access to HBO shows, movies, and documentaries for a full 7 days. Enjoy while you can!

6. Watch the Free Episodes on HBO Now

If you are one of the casual streamers who would just like to see what’s on HBO, this one’s for you. Go to their website and watch the trailers or free episodes of the available shows. This will be a good time-pass activity.

The only downside of this option is that the free episodes just include pilots. To watch full episodes, you will have to buy the subscription or sign up for free trial.

The simplest way to watch HBO free is via Spectrum’s service. Other methods work as well but for a limited time only. You can also tune in to the trailers of your favorite shows on YouTube. Full episodes are not available but if you are in luck, you might be able to find clips from the same scenes or episodes.

If after a free trial, you wish to keep HBO’s service, simply sign up for a monthly subscription. It only costs $15. Or you can call your cable TV provider to add HBO in your current package.
