Popular TV Shows
With so many options in critically acclaimed TV shows, it’s hard to pick the best ones. We have narrowed done both trending and the best shows of all time for you:
The Magicians
Some call it an R-rated Harry Potter addition, the show revolves around the life of Quentin Coldwater played by Jason Ralph. This fantasy novel nerd somehow enrolls himself in the Brakebills University which is a secret magical pedagogy. Coldwater not only finds that the magical world is real, but it’s a danger to humanity. You will have 5 seasons to binge-watch.
The Leftovers
This semi-apocalyptic drama series is pretty timely since its plot hinges around the question of what happens if 2 percent of the world’s population is wiped out.
The show is a stunning exploration of hope, fear, family, and fighting for a meaning in life. With the leftovers, you will find meaning in meaninglessness. Caution: before you plan to watch it, season 1 takes you to some dark places. But we recommend sticking with it because it’s worth it.
American Horror Story
Murder is scary, no doubt, but when murder comes in the form of camp slashers, haunted carnivals, and witches, it’s exciting. American Horror Story is the perfect distraction some of us need these days. Plus, the show introduces viewers to strong performers like Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, and Sarah Paulson.
I Am Not Okay With This
Who doesn’t love Stranger Things, right? If you would like to see Eleven’s power in action again, but through another character, of course, I Am Not Okay with This is for you.
This teen drama series has a sensational storyline with a charming cast. It just takes 3 hours to watch the entire season. The show is about an angsty teen who discovers she has superpowers.
Mad Men
7 seasons of Mad Men would keep anyone busy! Make sure you take breaks because the show can get real depressing at times. It was the first cable TV show to receive an Emmy for outstanding drama series. I was lucky it was available on my Spectrum service!
The series revolves around the conflicted world of Don Draper who is the main man in the advertising business. The show explores true human nature beneath the traditional family values of the 1960s.
